What Are Harmonic Currents and Voltages?
In a perfect electrical system, voltage and current waveforms follow a smooth sine wave at a fundamental frequency (e.g., 50Hz in Australia). However, modern electrical equipment such as Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), LED lighting. computers, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) don't draw power smoothly. These devices create non-linear loads and introduce unwanted electrical noise, known as harmonics-distortions in the current and voltage
